Alexander Wennberg

The youngster has been seeing top-six duty for coach Tortorella in Columbus and has responded with 8 points over his last 9 games. The trade of Ryan Johansen should further solidify Wennberg as an important offensive contributor moving forward. Brandon Dubinsky has more value in multi-category leagues, but I am liking Alex for pure scoring upside.

Tomas Hertl
It seems like ages ago that the German forward wowed the NHL with a tasty hat trick effort and a more memorable goal as a rookie against the Rangers. Despite a tremendous upside, Hertl has yet to pan out as a full time star in San Jose. There has been glimmers of brilliance, such as his three point effort against the Maple Leafs the other night. For now, he's back on the top line but how long will it last? Probably worth a flier though.

Jordan Staal
The more defensive minded center in the Staal family does have some scoring ability as evidenced by three straight multiple point outings.  However, you should view him as a short term option as he tends to score in bunches. Get him while he is streaking and you might have something. His career high was 50 points while in Pittsburgh but only 40 as a member of Carolina. In other words, don't expect much but use him well now.

David Pastrnak
The 19-year old sensation is back from the World Juniors and landed on a line with Bergeron and Marchand in Saturday's contest. Yes, he also scored a goal which bodes well for one of the hottest sleeper prospects entering the season. He holds more value in dynasty leagues but he could finish the season with an offensive flurry.

Seth Jones
This is one of the more intriguing options available as his fantasy value had dwindled to nothing as he played a backseat to Weber and Josi in Nashville. Now, he finds himself as the top gun on his new team Columbus, both on even strength and the power play. It might take Jones a while to get used to his new surroundings but don't be shocked by a decent point surge over the last quarter of the season. He is well worth stashing away until he shows signs of fantasy relevance.
